Kenyan Birth Certificates
As we all know, until currently, Kenyan Birth certificates are issued only once in life time. Once, to make a clear difference between these our certificates and what is issued in the western world. The Kenyan Birth certificate is issued once and has a life long validity unlike the western birth certificates that are issued with a validity of only six months.
Kenyans who are residing in Italy, Greece, Poland, Turkey, Cyprus and Malta could make applications for issuance of birth certificates if:
A) A Kenyan Child is born in any of these countries
Requirements.
i) Original birth certificate issued by the country where the child is born. For certificates issued by other countries other than Italy, a translation of the same birth certificate authenticated by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of that country is required. The birth certificate must indicate the names of the parents.
2). Original passports of the parents.
3). Copie of birth certificates for the parents.
4). Copies of Identity cards for the parents.
5). Form BD1 duly completed. Click here for the form
6). A fee of Euro 30,00 to be paid in the usual way to the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Rome. (See payments in the main menu here on the left)
B) A Birth certificate gets lost or damaged
Requirements
1) Original passport
2) passport report incase if the birth certificate is lost
3) Copy of the lost or damaged birth certificate
4) Form BD1 duly completed click here to download the form
