PASSPORTS

KENYANS IN ITALY, GREECE, CYPRUS, POLAND AND TURKEY MAY APPLY FOR THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS AT THE KENYA EMBASSY - ROME.

All the Consular payments may be paid by Ordinary Post office Money orders (Vaglia postale ordinario) if done from Italy. Persons making payments from other countries may pay straight to the following account:

A) PASSPORTS

i. Replacement of a passport after five or ten years of validity.

  1. The expiring passport
  2. Form PP1 duly completed. (click here for the form).
  3. Four passport size photographs
  4. Euro forty five (Euro 45,00), current fee for a 32 page passport that is valid for 10 years.
  5. If the Embassy is expected to post back the renewed passport, the applicant is expected to include Euro seven (Euro 7,00) postage fee.
  6. Copy of the permit of stay in the country of residence.

ii. Replacement of a lost passport (You may want to check on our list in the main menu, if your passport has been found)

  1. Form PP1 duly complete. (click here for the form)
  2. Police abstract
  3. Four passport size photographs
  4. Letter of explanation indicating how, where and when the passport got lost.
  5. Copy of the residential permit
  6. Euro One hundred and forty seven (Euro 147,00)
  7. Euro 20,00 if the police abstract is in Italian.
  8. If the Embassy is expected to post back the renewed passport, the applicant is expected to include Euro seven (Euro 7,00) postage fee.
  9. Copy of the lost passport and copies of any other documents issued by Kenyan authorities.

iii. Replacement of a damaged passport.

  1. Form PP1 duly completed. (click here for forms)
  2. The damaged passport
  3. Four passport size photograps
  4. Letter of explanation indicating how, where and when the passport got damaged.
  5. Copy of the residential permit
  6. Euro One hundred and thirteen (Euro 113,00).
  7. If the Embassy is expected to post back the renewed passport, the applicant is expected to include Euro seven (Euro 7,00) postage fee.

iv)  Replacement of a passport whose pages are full.

  1. The passport whose pages are full or just about
  2. Form PP1 duly completed. (Click here for the forms)
  3. The passport whose pages are full or just about.
  4. Four passport size photographs
  5. Euro forty five only ( Euro 45,00), current fee for a 32 page passport.
  6. Letter of request.
  7. If the Embassy is expected to post back the passport, the applicant is expected to include Euro seven (Euro 7,00) postage fee.

v) Correction of details in the passport.

With effect from 01st January 2007, Passports are not corrected any more by handwritting in the correct information.

If your passport is issued with  mistake eg. mispelt names, wrong dates of birth, wrong countries of residence or any other mistakes, your passport will need to be sent back to Nairobi before the expiry of two months since the date of issue. This way a new passport will issued without any payments.

If case the passport is sent back after a period of more than two months from the day of issue, the applicant must fill up the forms again and make payments a new.

In cases where the applicant is the one who gave the wrong information while filling the forms, he/she will be required to fill up the forms  a fresh and make the required payment for a new passport.

vi) New passports for Kenyans under sixteen years.

  1. Form PP1 duly completed. (click here for the form)
  2. Letter of request from the father/guardian of the child.
  3. Original birth certificate. NB: For birth certificates issued by Greek, Polish, Turkish and Cypriot, Maltese authorities, translations must be done and authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the proper state.
  4. Copies of passport of the father/guardian.
  5. Copy of the residential permit
  6. Euro forty five only (Euro 45,00) current fee for a 32 page passport that is valid for 10 years.
  7. If the Embassy is expected to post the passport, the applicant is expected to include Euro seven (Euro 7,00) postage fee.
